This artwork by Ernst Ferdinand Oehme achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2003. In the Old Master Pictures and Drawings auction, the work Schloss Colditz, Saxony, seen through trees sold for GBP 1,997.50 (€ 2,829.20) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernst Ferdinand Oehme achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Bergkapelle im Winter" in November 2014 with an auction result of EUR 283,800.00.
