Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Octogenarian by Ernest Martin Hennings was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,090.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Martin Hennings achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indian Summer in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,553,000.00 (€ 1,057,325.71).

Die Arbeit Octogenarian von Ernest Martin Hennings kam im Mai 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.090,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernest Martin Hennings erzielen.
