Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Clouds, Mountains and Sage by Ernest Martin Hennings. Here, the upper estimate of USD 180,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 182,500.00 (€ 137,538.62). Admittedly, works by Ernest Martin Hennings have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Indian Summer in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,553,000.00 (€ 1,057,325.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Clouds, Mountains and Sage von Ernest Martin Hennings zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 180.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 182.500,00 (€ 137.538,62) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ernest Martin Hennings auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Indian Summer im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.553.000,00 (€ 1.057.325,71).
