Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Summer by Ernest Lawson. The price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,901.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Lawson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Melting Snow in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 292,000.00 (€ 335,863.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Summer von Ernest Lawson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.901,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernest Lawson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Melting Snow im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 292.000,00 (€ 335.863,81).
