Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Old Mill At Dallas, Mo. by Ernest Lawson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 32,095.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Lawson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Melting Snow in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 292,000.00 (€ 335,863.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Old Mill At Dallas, Mo. von Ernest Lawson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 32.095,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernest Lawson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Melting Snow im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 292.000,00 (€ 335.863,81).
