Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Spring Landscape by Ernest Lawson for USD 23,750.00 (€ 20,958.35). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Lawson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Melting Snow in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 292,000.00 (€ 335,863.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Spring Landscape von Ernest Lawson für USD 23.750,00 (€ 20.958,35) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernest Lawson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Melting Snow im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 292.000,00 (€ 335.863,81).
