Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2001 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pictures, which included the work Near the Belle Alliance at dawn, June 18th, 1815 by Ernest Crofts. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 12,337.50 (€ 19,632.85). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernest Crofts - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Whitehall: January 30th, 1649, which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 47,800.00 (€ 69,786.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Near the Belle Alliance at dawn, June 18th, 1815 von Ernest Crofts zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 12.337,50 (€ 19.632,85) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernest Crofts mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Whitehall: January 30th, 1649 beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für GBP 47.800,00 (€ 69.786,49) versteigert wurde.
