Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sketch for 'The Funeral of Queen Victoria', February, 1901 by Ernest Crofts was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in August 2010. It changed hands for a price of GBP 562.50 (€ 680.01) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Crofts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Whitehall: January 30th, 1649 in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 47,800.00 (€ 69,786.49).
