The result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 47,339.52) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ernest Charton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Panorama of the City of Valparaíso, Chile in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 206,500.00 (€ 288,841.92).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Quito, Ecuador von Ernest Charton kam im November 2015 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 47.339,52) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ernest Charton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Panorama of the City of Valparaíso, Chile im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 206.500,00 (€ 288.841,92).
