Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ernest Burnett Hood could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Scottish Sale auction, the work Figures Before A Canalside House; And A Train Station, Winter (Verso) changed hands for GBP 120.00 (€ 174.77) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Burnett Hood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Duchess of Montrose, at full steam in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,455.69).
