This artwork by Eric Kennington achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2016. In the Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector auction, the work Robert Sewell sold for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,962.10) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Eric Kennington have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Trees at the Somme in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 50,900.00 (€ 73,095.75).
