Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Eric Kennington achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2020. In the Refining Taste: Works Selected by Danny Katz auction, the work T.E. Lawrence sold for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,752.75) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eric Kennington - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Trees at the Somme, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 50,900.00 (€ 73,095.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eric Kennington erzielte im Mai 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Refining Taste: Works Selected by Danny Katz wurde die Arbeit T.E. Lawrence für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.752,75) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Eric Kennington mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Trees at the Somme beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 50.900,00 (€ 73.095,75) versteigert wurde.
