Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head Of A Soldier by Eric Kennington was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,121.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eric Kennington - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Trees at the Somme, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 50,900.00 (€ 73,095.75).

Die Arbeit Head Of A Soldier von Eric Kennington wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.121,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Eric Kennington mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Trees at the Somme beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 50.900,00 (€ 73.095,75) versteigert wurde.
