Signed Eric Grate. Foundry mark Valsuani cire perdue. The motif conceived 1928. bronze, brown patina. height 48 cm, length 41 cm (including wood base total height 53 cm, total length 46 cm).
Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "Astri" by Eric Grate was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in December 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 35,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 32,000.00 (€ 3,049.79). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eric Grate achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Silvatica" in December 2012 with an auction result of SEK 1,600,000.00 (€ 186,379.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit "Astri" von Eric Grate im Dezember 2019 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 35.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 32.000,00 (€ 3.049,79) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eric Grate erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Silvatica" im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 1.600.000,00 (€ 186.379,49).
