Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work HMS Warspite in Norwegian coastal waters, 1940 by Eric Erskine Campbell Tufnell for GBP 484.50 (€ 540.87). This price was achieved in the auction The Marine Sale at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Eric Erskine Campbell Tufnell have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2006 by the work H.M.S. Punjabi In Arctic Waters (Illustrated); H.M.S. Calder In A Heavy Swell; H.M.S. Inconstant In A Convoy; And H.M.S. Welfare Before The Forth Bridge at GBP 660.00 (€ 980.12).
