Hibernia by Eric Erskine Campbell Tufnell was sold in the MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS auction at Christies in London in June 2005. The price achieved of GBP 264.00 (€ 391.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eric Erskine Campbell Tufnell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work H.M.S. Punjabi In Arctic Waters (Illustrated); H.M.S. Calder In A Heavy Swell; H.M.S. Inconstant In A Convoy; And H.M.S. Welfare Before The Forth Bridge, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 660.00 (€ 980.12).
