Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy - Shou by Empress Dowager Cixi was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Paris in June this year. The price achieved of HKD 100,800.00 (€ 11,778.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Empress Dowager Cixi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lotus, Root and Seed in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 312,380.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy - Shou von Empress Dowager Cixi wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 100.800,00 (€ 11.778,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Empress Dowager Cixi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lotus, Root and Seed im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 312.380,66).
