It achieved a price of HKD 40,800.00 (€ 4,431.94), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 36%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Empress Dowager Cixi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lotus, Root and Seed in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 312,380.66).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script von Empress Dowager Cixi kam im Juni 2021 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 40.800,00 (€ 4.431,94) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 36%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Empress Dowager Cixi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lotus, Root and Seed im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 312.380,66).
