This artwork by Empress Dowager Cixi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Running Script Calligraphy sold for HKD 237,500.00 (€ 25,570.47) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Empress Dowager Cixi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lotus, Root and Seed in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 312,380.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Empress Dowager Cixi erzielte im November 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Running Script Calligraphy für HKD 237.500,00 (€ 25.570,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Empress Dowager Cixi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lotus, Root and Seed im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 312.380,66).
