Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2020 Christies in New York held the auction The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection, which included the work Nancy Wells, Danville, Virginia, 1969 by Emmet Gowin. Here, the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,902.81). Admittedly, works by Emmet Gowin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Concerning America and Alfred Stieglitz, and Myself. Richmond, Virginia: by the photographer, 1965. in May 2010 with an auction result of GBP 39,650.00 (€ 46,455.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nancy Wells, Danville, Virginia, 1969 von Emmet Gowin zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.902,81) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Emmet Gowin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Concerning America and Alfred Stieglitz, and Myself.
