This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emmet Gowin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Concerning America and Alfred Stieglitz, and Myself. Richmond, Virginia: by the photographer, 1965., which sold at auction in May 2010 for GBP 39,650.00 (€ 46,455.48).
