Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Flowers in vase), 1930 by Emmanuel Sougez was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,905.90). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emmanuel Sougez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pommes De Terre, 1930, which sold at auction in November 2008 for EUR 13,750.00.
