Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Halkere by Emily Kame Kngwarreye was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in July 2009. It achieved a price of AUD 28,800.00 (€ 16,305.47), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 15%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emily Kame Kngwarreye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Celebration in December 2019 with an auction result of USD 596,000.00 (€ 530,863.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Halkere von Emily Kame Kngwarreye kam im Juli 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 28.800,00 (€ 16.305,47) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 15%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emily Kame Kngwarreye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer Celebration im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 596.000,00 (€ 530.863,10).
