This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Emil Lukas; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Square Bouquet sold at auction in March 2021 with the realized price of USD 30,240.00 (€ 25,751.51).
