Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Roman Glass (Jade And Ancient Glass) by Emil Carlsen. The price achieved of USD 40,320.00 (€ 34,408.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Emil Carlsen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With Pottery Jars in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 278,491.86).
