Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Woman Putting on Stocking by Elmer Nelson Bischoff was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2008. The price achieved of USD 182,500.00 (€ 143,768.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elmer Nelson Bischoff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Cliffs, which sold at auction in May 2006 for USD 564,800.00 (€ 440,115.33).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 182.500,00 (€ 143.768,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Elmer Nelson Bischoff mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red Cliffs beobachtet, die im Mai 2006 für USD 564.800,00 (€ 440.115,33) versteigert wurde.
