In November this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Western Art, which included the work Waiting, 1928 by William Elling Gollings. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,120.00 (€ 4,693.80), 71% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Elling Gollings achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Buying Buckskins in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 220,000.00 (€ 193,338.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 71 % übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Waiting, 1928 von William Elling Gollings zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 5.120,00 (€ 4.693,80) und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Elling Gollings erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Buying Buckskins im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 220.000,00 (€ 193.338,61).
