Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Ellen Berkenbilt was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 700.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 375.00 (€ 282.34). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ellen Berkenbilt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nite Vibe in June this year with an auction result of GBP 40,640.00 (€ 47,297.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ellen Berkenbilt im Juli 2013 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 375,00 (€ 282,34) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ellen Berkenbilt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nite Vibe im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.640,00 (€ 47.297,96).
