Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled Two Works by Ellen Berkenbilt was auctioned at Christies in New York in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,854.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ellen Berkenbilt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nite Vibe in June this year with an auction result of GBP 40,640.00 (€ 47,297.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled Two Works von Ellen Berkenbilt im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.016,00 (€ 1.854,30) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ellen Berkenbilt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nite Vibe im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.640,00 (€ 47.297,96).
