Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Goethe as a Youth by Ellen Berkenbilt was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Christies in London in September 2010. The price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,614.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ellen Berkenbilt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nite Vibe in June this year with an auction result of GBP 40,640.00 (€ 47,297.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Goethe as a Youth von Ellen Berkenbilt wurde im September 2010 in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.614,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ellen Berkenbilt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nite Vibe im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.640,00 (€ 47.297,96).
