Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Young Saint John The Baptist by Elisabetta Sirani was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2014. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 36,523.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Elisabetta Sirani have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portia Wounding Her Thigh in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 505,000.00 (€ 340,273.57).
