This artwork by Elisabetta Sirani achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2018. In the Old Master & British Drawings auction, the work Study for the Madonna di Loreto with Saints Thomas of Villanova, Bernardino of Siena, Lawrence, Francis and Pellegrino sold for USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,046.35) - well above the upper estimate of USD 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elisabetta Sirani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portia Wounding Her Thigh in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 505,000.00 (€ 340,273.57).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elisabetta Sirani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portia Wounding Her Thigh im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 505.000,00 (€ 340.273,57).
