Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venus And Cupid by Elisabetta Sirani was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2018. It changed hands for a price of USD 137,500.00 (€ 112,603.39) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elisabetta Sirani - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portia Wounding Her Thigh, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 505,000.00 (€ 340,273.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Venus And Cupid von Elisabetta Sirani kam im Februar 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 112.603,39) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Elisabetta Sirani mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portia Wounding Her Thigh beobachtet, die im Januar 2008 für USD 505.000,00 (€ 340.273,57) versteigert wurde.
