Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Eliot Porter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in October 2017. In the Photographs auction, the work Intimate Landscapes sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,097.18) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Eliot Porter; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Trees, 1958-1975 sold at auction in April 2008 with the realized price of USD 46,600.00 (€ 29,933.20).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Eliot Porter erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Intimate Landscapes für USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.097,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Eliot Porter; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Trees, 1958-1975 im April 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 46.600,00 (€ 29.933,20).
