The work Two Standing Pears by Eliot Hodgkin was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in June 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 19,000.00 (€ 22,139.94), 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eliot Hodgkin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Violets II, which sold at auction in September 2000 for GBP 51,700.00 (€ 86,509.89).

Die Arbeit Two Standing Pears von Eliot Hodgkin wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 19.000,00 (€ 22.139,94) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Eliot Hodgkin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Violets II beobachtet, die im September 2000 für GBP 51.700,00 (€ 86.509,89) versteigert wurde.
