In October 2021 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, which included the work Skye by Eliot Hodgkin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,251.86), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Eliot Hodgkin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Violets II in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 51,700.00 (€ 86,509.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Skye von Eliot Hodgkin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.251,86) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eliot Hodgkin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Violets II im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 51.700,00 (€ 86.509,89).
