This artwork by Eliot Hodgkin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in April 2021. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Black and Gold sold for GBP 12,750.00 (€ 14,666.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Eliot Hodgkin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Violets II in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 51,700.00 (€ 86,509.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eliot Hodgkin erzielte im April 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Black and Gold für GBP 12.750,00 (€ 14.666,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eliot Hodgkin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Violets II im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 51.700,00 (€ 86.509,89).
