Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Small Ideal Head by Elihu Vedder was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2017. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,462.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elihu Vedder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Young Marsyas (Marsyas Enchanting The Hares), which sold at auction in April 2013 for USD 93,750.00 (€ 71,195.32).
