Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Near Villa Ansidei Perugia, Sunset by Elihu Vedder for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,530.19). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elihu Vedder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Young Marsyas (Marsyas Enchanting The Hares) in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 93,750.00 (€ 71,195.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Near Villa Ansidei Perugia, Sunset von Elihu Vedder für USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.530,19) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elihu Vedder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Young Marsyas (Marsyas Enchanting The Hares) im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 71.195,32).
