Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian & Edwardian Art, which included the work The Gilded Apple by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,435.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work And all generations shall call her blessed, which sold at auction in December 2020 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 44,683.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Gilded Apple von Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.435,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit And all generations shall call her blessed beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 44.683,57) versteigert wurde.
