A top price for Eishosai Choki
The work Open seam (Hokorobi) by Eishosai Choki was sold in the Masters of the Woodblock: Important Japanese Prints auction at Sothebys in London in July last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 50,400.00 (€ 60,186.55). With this result, Open seam (Hokorobi) is even the most expensive work of art by Eishosai Choki that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Eishosai Choki
Die Arbeit Open seam (Hokorobi) von Eishosai Choki wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Masters of the Woodblock: Important Japanese Prints bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 50.400,00 (€ 60.186,55) einen neuen Besitzer. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Open seam (Hokorobi) sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Eishosai Choki, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
