Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1780-1810 by Eishosai Choki was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Bonhams in New York in March last year. The price achieved of USD 4,080.00 (€ 3,678.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eishosai Choki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Open seam (Hokorobi) in July last year with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 60,186.55).
