Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Eishosai Choki achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in September 2021. In the Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono auction, the work Edo Period (1615-1868) sold for USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,057.27) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Eishosai Choki have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Open seam (Hokorobi) in July last year with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 60,186.55).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Eishosai Choki erzielte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono wurde die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868) für USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.057,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eishosai Choki auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Open seam (Hokorobi) im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 60.186,55).
