Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Uki-e Toeizan hanami no zu (Cherry-blossom viewing at Toeizan: perspective view) by Eishosai Choki was sold in the AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS auction at Christies in New York in March 2003. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,390.00 (€ 2,192.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eishosai Choki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Open seam (Hokorobi) in July last year with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 60,186.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Uki-e Toeizan hanami no zu (Cherry-blossom viewing at Toeizan: perspective view) von Eishosai Choki wurde im März 2003 in der Auktion AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.390,00 (€ 2.192,66) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eishosai Choki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Open seam (Hokorobi) im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 60.186,55).
