The work Ordeal By Roses #29, 1962 by Eikoh Hosoe was sold in the The Yamakawa Collection of Twentieth Century Photographs auction at Christies in New York in April 2018. It achieved a price of USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,934.07), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eikoh Hosoe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yayoi Kusama (Imaged Taken In 1964, Printed In 2016) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 81,600.00 (€ 83,329.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
