Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of A Young Girl by Edwin Harris for USD 3,438.00 (€ 2,316.56). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Harris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Under The Blossom That Hangs On The Bough in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 130,250.00 (€ 216,371.16).
