Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A quiet moment by Edwin Harris was sold in the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction at Christies in London in September 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,500.00 (€ 6,452.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Harris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Under The Blossom That Hangs On The Bough in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 130,250.00 (€ 216,371.16).
