Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work Portrait Of A Man by Edward Wolfe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 325.00 (€ 441.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Wolfe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Curtis Thomas in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,053.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Man von Edward Wolfe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 325,00 (€ 441,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Wolfe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Curtis Thomas im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.053,27).
