Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edward Wolfe could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Still Life on a Table changed hands for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,697.33) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Wolfe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Curtis Thomas in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,053.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Wolfe konnte im März 2012 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit Still Life on a Table für GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.697,33) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Wolfe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Curtis Thomas im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.053,27).
