In May 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Sleighing by Edward Willis Redfield. The result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 224,517.29) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Willis Redfield - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Road To The River, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 730,000.00 (€ 691,156.98).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sleighing von Edward Willis Redfield zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 224.517,29) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Willis Redfield mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Road To The River beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 730.000,00 (€ 691.156,98) versteigert wurde.
